Investment Process
“Change your opinions, keep to your principles; change your leaves, keep intact your roots.”
-Victor Hugo

Our three step selection process has substantial reliance on fundamental analysis.

Step 1. The first step in our process is our proprietary Valuation Model, which produces a subset of stocks from the Russell 1000® Index that are “cheap” relative to their growth prospects.

Step 2. We utilize our proprietary “Q-Squared” model to capture highly granular inputs ranked by impact on short-term fundamental, long-term fundamental and investor sentiment.

Step 3. SCM analysts perform Fundamental Analysis on those companies deemed attractive, challenging the assumptions underlying their expected growth rates and ranking them as suitable candidates for the portfolio.

We believe that the sell discipline is just as important as the buy discipline. Stocks are sold when they achieve their target price, there is a significant negative revision not discounted by the market, or the original purchase thesis is invalidated. Our rigorous process helps us avoid the common pitfalls of becoming emotionally attached to stock positions.
